Want to know more about how healthcare professionals use Facebook, Twitter and other social medias to help their patients? Well, the 1st Philippine Summit on Social Media and Health Care will be held on February 21, 2015 in Radisson Blu Cebu. The theme for the summit is “Synergies in Social Media and Healthcare.”

Organized by HealthXPH and in cooperation with the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, the summit brings health care professionals, academe, healthcare industry, patients and advocates together to discuss and use, emerging technologies and social media to positively impact the Philippine health landscape. The Core Collaborators are Dr. Remo Aguilar, Dr. Gia Sison, Dr. Iris Thiele Isip Tan and Dr. Narciso Tapia.

The summit’s objectives are:

– Describe how social media is changing the interaction between healthcare professionals and patients

– Identify the challenges social media poses to upholding medical professionalism

– Discuss how healthcare professionals can preserve medical professionalism when using social media
