Sinking Of Passenger Boat In Ormoc Leaves At Least 36 Dead

The boat was carrying a total of 173 passengers when it capsized.

M/B  Kim Nirvana was bound for Pilar, Camotes when it capsized around 12 PM, just minutes after it left the coast of Ormoc, Leyte. According to a Sun.Star interview,

 

“Malakas daw po yung alon at tsaka hangin (Big waves and strong winds caused it to capsize)”

 

The boat was carrying 173 passengers. 118 passengers were saved while 36 are dead and 19 are missing.
